911 dispatcher arrested on a child pornography charge

PARAGON – On Thursday, February 17th, a Morgan County 911 dispatcher and Paragon Volunteer Fire Department fighter was arrested on a felony charge of possession of child pornography.

Police arrested 23-year-old Luke A. Jobes and he is being held in the Morgan County Jail.

A criminal investigation was started on December 2, 2021, when Trooper Robert Whyte and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) detectives gained information from a previous investigation that Jobes had possession of child pornography.   

After a thorough investigation which included interviews and serving a search warrant, Trooper Whyte submitted charging documents to the Morgan County Prosecutors Office on Tuesday, February 14, 2022. An arrest warrant was then issued for Jobes who was booked into the Morgan County Jail.

Assisting the Indiana State Police were the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Morgan County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office.
