Schools that require masks will no longer need to track close-contact COVID-19 cases

INDIANA – Schools in Indiana that have mask requirements will no longer need to track close-contact coronavirus cases, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

The Indiana Department of Health on Friday sent new guidelines for schools. One of the changes ends contract tracing and individual student reporting for schools that require masks.

Parents in those schools will now get a notification if someone in their child’s class tests positive or was in close contact with the student that tested positive.

Schools that don’t require masks will continue to have to track and report close contacts.
