Entire state of Indiana under “Red” advisory for COVID-19

INDIANA – The entire state of Indiana is in the “Red” Advisory Level for COVID-19 – the highest – as of Jan. 19. There have been 118 new deaths from the virus and an additional 16,502 new positive cases.

Red metrics signify a 7-day positivity rate of 15 percent or more and 200 or more new weekly cases per 100,000 residents.

The state’s positivity rate sits at 30 percent, according to the state Department of Health.

Indiana is in its worst surge in COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic, powered heavily by the omicron variant. The state reported more than 16,000 new cases on Tuesday.

In Lawrence County, there have been 10,085 cases up by 109 and 223 deaths.
