Mitchell police make dual arrest after receiving a tip from a citizen

MITCHELL – Two Mitchell men were arrested Sunday after Mitchell Police officers were alerted to an unconscious person at the Marathon station.

When police arrived they found a dark-colored pickup truck parked at the gas pump. They discovered two males inside the vehicle, both were awake and alert.

As the officer approached the vehicle he detected the odor of burnt marijuana.

Jacob Clevenger

The driver of the truck was 40-year-old Jacob Clevenger. As Clevenger opened the door the officer noticed a large machete on the floorboard of the truck. As Clevenger stepped out of the vehicle the officer noticed a clear plastic container on the center console that contained burnt marijuana cigarettes.

George Troxel

Clevenger and his passenger 20-year-old George Troxel were detained.

Police found a baggie that contained crystal meth inside Troxel’s wallet that was in his pant pocket.

During a search of the truck,  police found a baggie that contained crystal meth in an eyeglass case on the dash of the vehicle. Police found drug paraphernalia and other baggies containing marijuana along with an Altoid’s tin that contained several pills.

Both Clevenger and Troxel were arrested on charges of possession of meth and marijuana. Clevenger also faces a charge of unlawful possession of a syringe.
