ORLEANS – The Annual Christmas on the Square event offered families the opportunity to visit with Santa Claus and bask in the chilly winter air.
The jolly old elf arrived at 5:00 p.m. with a escort from Orleans Municipal Fire and Police Department, riding in the historic 1926 Peter Pirsch fire truck around the square before stopping in front of the picturesque 1926 bandstand.
Families lined up in front of the bandstand as Santa arrived to listen to Christmas wishes and to take pictures with the children.
Brothers Garret and Hunter were anxiously awaiting their turn to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas this year.

“I want a new remote control dinosaur to play with,” said Garret. “I want Santa to get me a new Spider-Man web shooter,” Hunter said.

Moni was also excited to meet with Santa with hopes of getting exactly what she wanted this year.
“I want a Barbie dollhouse or a Peppa pig camper this year from Santa,” said Moni

The event brought the community together in the holiday spirit as Santa was able to greet all with a jolly laugh, before returning to the North Pole to get to work on their presents.
