NORTH VERNON – Jennings County scored twice in each half to subdue Bedford North Lawrence 4-0 during girls high school soccer action on Thursday.
Morgan Lane registered two goals in the first half, and Abby McDonald struck late in the second half for her two goals as the Stars slipped to 0-5-1 (0-3-0 in the Hoosier Hills Conference).
Lane got the Panthers on the board with 21:22 left in the first half, then added her second at the 17:37 mark. The Stars buckled down defensively until McDonald tallied her goals (with 6:24 and 5:21 remaining).
“It was a pretty even, hard-fought game,” BNL coach Jackie Dufrense said. “Lane was good with the ball. We played much better in the second half before falling apart with two back-door goals. We played better than we have, with more chances on offense. There are still things to work on.”
BNL will visit Brown County on Monday.
