Traffic pattern to change on S.R. 135 in Morgantown

MORGAN CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Force Construction will be changing the traffic pattern on State Road 135 at Indian Creek (approximately 0.2 miles south of State Road 252) in Morgantown on or after Wednesday, September 8.

This is the location of a truss bridge rehabilitation project. At the bridge, traffic will be switched from the normal pattern on the truss bridge onto a temporary runaround and temporary bridge.  Speed limits will be reduced to 25 MPH through this location during construction. There will also be a width restriction with travel lanes reduced to 12 feet on the temporary bridge.

Traffic will be in this configuration through at least late April 2022. This nearly $2.5 million contract was awarded in November 2020.

Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution, and drive distraction-free in and near all construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
