Students will soon be returning for in-person learning at the IU campus

BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington campus will soon be bustling with activity as students return to Indiana University’s campus.

The fall 2021 semester marks the in-person return of students, staff, and faculty across IU. A joyous vibrance is returning to classrooms, lecture halls, sidewalks, and sporting venues that have sat mainly dormant for the past 16 months.

After transitioning to a remote schedule during the spring 2020 semester and a hybrid 2020-21 school year, Indiana University is ready to safely and enthusiastically welcome everyone back.

Students will head back to campus for the start of the fall semester on August 24.

The academic calendar will run from August 24 to May 9. The fall semester will include special 3- and 13-Week Sessions. From December 21 to February 7, IU will have a new winter session that is online-only. This session will allow students to finish the fall semester, begin the spring semester, or create new intensive courses.

Residence halls will be single occupancy with an exemption process for students who wish to have a roommate.
