Bedford man arrested after police find heroin in his wallet

BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Tuesday after a Bedford Police officer stopped his vehicle on 25th Street after he noticed the vehicle had a paper license plate that was unsecured on the bottom, allowing wind to get underneath it and fold it upwards when driving, making it difficult to read.

Blake May

The officer stopped 24-year-old Blake May at the intersection of 25th and N streets.

The officer said May appeared nervous and asked if he could search May’s vehicle.

While exiting the vehicle May began frantically grabbing items, including his wallet, and then quickly reached into his pockets. At this point, the officer requested that Blake leave the items in place and exit the vehicle, and he complied.

In May’s wallet, the officer found a baggie containing heroin and a folded piece of paper containing heroin. They also found a Gabapentin capsule which May did not have a prescription for.

May was arrested on charges of possession of a narcotic drug and possession of a legend drug.
