Elizabeth “Beth Ann” Grafton

July 27, 1951 – July 18, 2021

Elizabeth “Beth Ann” Grafton passed away peacefully at her home in Loogootee on July 18, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Beth Ann was born July 27, 1951, to Elizabeth “Betty” Hart Johnson in Vincennes, IN. Beth Ann married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Roy Dale Grafton, on October 5, 1973. Together, they raised two sons on the farm they worked together and enjoyed sharing with their family.

Beth Ann was a 1969 graduate of Shoals High School. She obtained her business degree from Vincennes University and spent her career working in businesses in the community. Beth Ann enjoyed traveling and camping where she made some of her favorite memories with her family and friends. Beth Ann will be remembered for her zucchini bread which was something she loved to make and share with others. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shoals where she attended with her family.

Surviving to cherish Beth Ann’s memory are her husband of 47 years, Roy Dale Grafton, and her two sons, Andrew and Amy Grafton of Loogootee, and Adam and Stephanie Grafton of Deer Creek, IL, and sister Henrietta Day of Loogootee. Also, surviving are her grandchildren, Eli, Allie, and Annabelle Grafton, and Abigail Moody.

Beth Ann claimed many others as her extended family and those included her “extra children” Tim Jones and Tony Holt and too many others to mention.

Beth Ann was greeted in Heaven by her mother, Betty Johnson, her aunt, Dorothy Hart, and her special “squirrelly girl,” granddaughter, Amanda Grafton.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of Thorne- George Family Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Cecil officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral chapel. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Grafton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Beth Ann’s honor to the Jasper Cancer Center or Heart to Heart Hospice.
