Bedford Plan Commission approves three requests during a public hearing

BEDFORD – The Bedford Plan Commission approved three requests during a public hearing on Tuesday afternoon.

The first request was from Deckard & Associates LLC. to have a subdivision located at 2204 I street, subdivided into two lots. The commission approved the request but with a stipulation. For any construction to occur on the lot, an erosion control plan must be in place before applying for a building permit and once construction is completed, an inspection must show that the erosion control issue was addressed.

The stipulation was put in place after Clyde Carter, whose property is next to the subdivision, had concerns about the erosion problem.

The commission also approved L&C Morris Properties’ request for a minor subdivision at 2704 John Williams Boulevard. The lot will be divided into three lots. The property will have utility and egress easements on all the lots.

These lots sit where Shirley Brothers and E & M Tool were formerly located.

The commission also approved Cammy Stiles’ request to rezone 429 F Street from B-1 Convenience Business to R-3 Medium Density Residential District. Stiles is placing a modular home on the lot. This request will now move on to the Bedford City Council for approval. The rezone from an R-3 instead of R-1 was questioned by Plan Commission members. Plan Director Brandon Woodward stated he kept the zoning in conformity with the area.
