Bedford man arrested on meth charges

BEDFORD – On Thursday, Bedford Police Officers responded to Becky’s Place on 5th Street after a report of an unwanted person at the facility.

Police learned the ex-boyfriend of one of the residents was in the parking lot and officials wanted the male removed.

Jason Bryant

When police arrived they found 43-year-old Jason Bryant standing next to a black car in the parking lot. Bryant told police he was there to meet his girlfriend who had just gotten off work and they were going for a walk with his dog.

The caller told police Bryant was a resident’s ex-boyfriend and they wanted him removed from the property.

Police then learned Bryant was wanted on a warrant in Greene County and he was arrested.

On the tire of Byrant’s vehicle police found a glass smoking pipe with meth residue and other items he had placed behind the front passenger tire. Those items included the pipe, a plastic baggie containing meth and mail addressed to Bryant and some loose change, three $1 bills and a package of rolling papers.

Bryant was then arrested on charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

Bryant told police he took the items out of his center console and placed them behind the tire when he saw officers pull up.

His dog was placed with animal control and the vehicle was locked until the register owner could come and pick it up.
