BNL wins Unified track sectional

JASPER – Bedford North Lawrence won the Unified Track sectional title on Saturday.

The Stars scored 120 points to edge Evansville North (104), Boonville (101) and Southridge (100) for the championship. The top three teams advanced to the regional.

Sectional winners included the girls 400 relay (Gracelyn Arthur, Emma Gipson, Cadence Harvey and Harley Tanksley) in 1:01.52, the boys 400 relay (Ethan Robinson, Philip Matson, Brax Huber and Tanner Robbins in 50.83), Robbins in the 100 meter dash (12.21), Huber in the 400 (57.80) and Byron Kyger in the shot put (42-8).

”I am so proud of what this team has done,” BNL coach Mike Branam said. “They have stepped up and given all that we have asked of them, and more. Every time they have stepped on the track, they have given their all. We are right where we want to be at this point in the season.”

The Stars will compete in the regional at Bloomington North on May 29.
