North Lawrence Career Center Director Brad Street resigns

BEDFORD – North Lawrence Career Center Director Brad Street has resigned effective the end of this school year.

“We started working together almost three years ago and it was great how he interacted with his staff. This is a great loss to the community,” said Joe Timbrook Director, Career Development for the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council. “He has done an amazing job. All you have to do is just look around the career center and see the improvements over the last two years with the upgrades in equipment.”

“He has worked hard on the Perkins Grant, and the budget and finances under his leadership have been superb,” according to Timbrook.

“He will be greatly missed, and we appreciate everything he has done,” said North Lawrence Community School Board President Trent Todd

Superintendent Dr. Ty Mungle shared Street’s resignation letter with the public and school board members Thursday night during the meeting. Mungle added Street has worked hard expanding career choices for the students at the career center.

The resgination letter reads:

“At this time I have decided to resign my position as the Director of the North Lawrence Career Center. With my time traveling and the construction between here and home, I am spending 3-4 hours driving each day. Unfortunately, it is exhausting and has pushed me to this decision.

We have accomplished a significant amount of improvements for the Career Center in just two short years. I truly enjoy working here and can say without a hestistation that we have the best teachers, staff, and students. A great community with support for this school makes this decision difficult but at this time it is about quality of life. Thank you so much for this opprotunity and all of the support,”

There is no word on when the hiring process will begin to search for a new director.
