BEDFORD – Two Bedford Police officers took their oaths of office before Mayor Sam Craig Monday afternoon during the Bedford Board of Works meeting.
Both officers, Michael Bell and Robert Harris began in January 2021 and are currently in the Field Training Program.
Their families and fellow Bedford Police officers attended the event welcoming the new officers to the department.
Robert Harris’s girlfriend Cynthaney Hignite, his mother Teresa, and father Robert attended the occasion.
“We are grateful to have them working on the force,” Bedford Mayor Sam Craig told the crowd.
Michael Bell’s fiancée, Summer Baumgart, his father Chris Bell, and step-mother Bethany Bell were in attendance supporting Michael’s choice to serve the public.
” We want to thank you for joining our department and wish you the best” Mayor Craig added after the ceremony.
