BEDFORD – Bedford Police Captain Morgan Lee received a commendation award for his heroic actions on April 6, 2021.
According to Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore, Captain Morgan Lee responded to an incident where a male was intimidating his neighbors with a shotgun.
After arriving at the scene, Capt. Lee obtained additional information from the family members who thought the suspect had shot one of his family members.
“Officer Lee quickly gathered information, located the man walking away from the scene who was carrying a shotgun. The man continued to walk away from Captain Lee as additional officers arrived, they approached the man who stopped at a table in the backyard and was reloading the shotgun. Captain Lee was able to gain control of the shotgun which was loaded. This incident ended peacefully, because of Captain Lee’s patience and quick thinking, everyone returned home safely,” said Chief Moore.
Some of his fellow officers were in attendance Monday afternoon to thank Captain Lee for a job well done.
