NORTH VERNON – On Tuesday, at approximately 1 p.m. officers with the North Vernon Police Department responded to an initial report of a possible deceased person in the 100 block of West Walnut Street.
Officers arrived and located a deceased person inside the residence.
The investigation has revealed a person of interest, 45-year-old William “Billy” Smith, of North Vernon.
North Vernon Police Department report, they have located and detained Smith.
Further details will be released as the investigation allows.
