Thompson wins hurdles as Stars finish 4th at Seymour

SEYMOUR – Zane Thompson won the 300 hurdles as Bedford North Lawrence finished fourth in the Seymour Invitational during boys track action on Tuesday.

Columbus East won the team title with 145 points, followed by Seymour (121), Jennings County (112), BNL (79) and Madison (34).

Thompson crossed the line in 44.33 seconds. Noah Carter was second in the 110 high hurdles in a personal-best 15.81 seconds, and Coleton Sears was second in the high jump with a personal-best leap of 6-0.

The Stars also finished second in two relays. James Underwood, Sam Cosner, Brye Lewis and Christian Garciano-Curren combined to finish in 46.67 in the 400, while Isaac Williams, Cosner, Will Decker and Thompson posted 3:42.49 in the 1600.

Decker was third in the 400 (56.01), Williams was third in the 800 (2:10.91) and Brecken Helsley was third in the shot put (41-6 1/2).

BNL will return to action at North Daviess on Thursday.
