Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department dispatcher dies after vehicle falls on him

BEDFORD – A Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department 911 dispatcher was killed Monday after a vehicle fell on top of him.

Shaun Kinser

According to Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore, officers responded at 5 p.m. to the 2410 block of N Street after receiving a call from Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department requesting Bedford Fire Department for an extraction.

When officers arrived they found 23-year-old Shaun Kinser laying underneath the front of a vehicle. Kinser was helping a friend change the oil in the vehicle.

“It appears that while working on his vehicle it fell off a floor jack.  Mr. Kinser was unresponsive and died from his injuries.” stated Chief Moore.

“My nephew Shaun Kinser always had a passion for public service and was known for his hilarious personality,” said his Aunt Beth Callahan.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for the funeral or other expenses needed. Residual funds will be donated in Shaun’s memory.
