BEDFORD – Two people were arrested Saturday after a Bedford Police officer stopped the driver for speeding and unsafe lane changes.
The driver was stopped near Bell Back Road on State Road 37.
Police identified the driver as 41-year-old Kory Foddrill and his passenger 34-year-old Teela Mitternight.
Foddrill would not give police permission to search the vehicle. However, the owner of the vehicle, Mitternight, did.
Lawrence County Sheriffs Department K9 Dusty alerted officers to drugs in the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, police found a baggie of crystal meth in the floorboard. In the center console, police found a plastic baggie and a black container containing three different types of pills, two types of gabapentin, trintellix, and clonazepam.
Both Foddrill and Mitternight were arrested on charges of possession of meth and possession of a legend drug.
Mitternight also faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Foddrill and Mitternight denied any of the drugs found were theirs and blamed each other.
Both Foddrill and Mitternight are currently on probation on a prior drug conviction.
