Bedford woman injured in an accident

BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident Thursday morning at R and 15th streets.

The accident was reported at 7:41 a.m.

According to a Bedford Police Department report, 32-year-old Timber Tarr, of Bedford, was traveling south on R Street in a 2019 Ford Edge and was approaching 15th Street. At the same time, 84-year-old Shirley Burch, of Bedford, was traveling west on 15th Street in a 2008 Toyota Highlander and was approaching R Street.

Tarr told police, Burch did not stop at the stop sign before proceeding into the intersection. Tarr said she sounded her horn, applied her brakes, and swerved to avoid Burch’s vehicle but could not avoid the collision.

Tarr’s car collided with Burch’s Highlander causing damage to both vehicles.

The collision pushed Burch’s vehicle into a utility pole.

Tarr was not injured. Burch suffered pain and swelling to her left hand. She was transported by an IU Health Hospital ambulance to IU Health Bedford Hospital for treatment.
