Nearly 15K worth of Meth seized and 4 arrested

ORANGE CO. – A Narcotics Investigation lead by Officers with the Washington Police Department and the DEA Task Force ended early Friday morning with the arrest of 4 individuals and the seizure of more than one-quarter pound of Crystal Methamphetamine (approximately 146 grams with a street value of $14,600).

At approximately 2:40 AM this morning, a Trooper with the Indiana State Police Jasper All Crimes Policing Team conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Dodge Intrepid for traffic violations in West Baden, Indiana occupied by 33-year-old Jordan Burch, 52-year-old Richard Smith, 54-year-old Ruth Adams, and 43-year-old Tiffany Veilleux (all of Loogootee, Indiana).

Burch was wanted on a Daviess County Felony warrant for possession of a narcotic drug and found to be in possession of more than a quarter-pound of methamphetamine, heroin, controlled substance pills, and marijuana.

All occupants in the vehicle were arrested for the following charges:

  • Burch: dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of syringe, and the Daviess County warrant.
  • Smith: OVWI refusal and maintaining a common nuisance.
  • Adams: visiting a common nuisance
  • Veilleux: visiting a common nuisance

Assisting in the investigation and/or the traffic stop were the following agencies: Indiana State Police, Daviess County Sheriffs Office, Martin County Sheriffs Office, Vanderburgh County Sheriffs Office, Orange County Sheriffs Office, Dubois County Sheriffs Office (K9 Chase), French Lick Police Department, and the West Baden Police Department.
