Orleans woman arrested on drug charges

BEDFORD – An Orleans woman was arrested Saturday after a Bedford Police officer noticed she was driving erratically on State Road 37.

The vehicle had significant front-end damage and an inoperable headlight. The officer reported she was also driving well below the posted speed limit.

Bedford and Monroe County officers had received several calls about the woman’s erratic driving.

Sarah Ruble

Officers stopped 32-year-old Sarah Ruble, traveling southbound on State Road 37, south of 5th Street.

Ruble told police her vehicle was damaged when it was hit by another vehicle at the Monroe County Dollar Store. However, Ruble failed to report the accident to Monroe County police.

Police then learned Ruble was driving on a suspended driver’s license.

During a search of Ruble’s vehicle police found syringes that tested positive for heroin, a baggie of marijuana, two smoking pipes, and in the bottom of Rubel’s purse police found Fentanyl.

Ruble was arrested on charges of possession of heroin, possession of a narcotic drug, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and was issued a citation for driving while her driver’s license was suspended.
