Oolitic woman arrested during a traffic stop

BEDFORD – An Oolitic woman was arrested Wednesday night after a Bedford Police officer stopped herfor speeding at 16th and Winwood Drive.

The officer spoke to the driver 28-year-old Heather Stevens. The officer learned that Stevens’ driving privileges were suspended and she had never received an operators license. 

K9 Zazu alerted his handler to drugs in the vehicle.

The officer found a mirror with meth residue on it inside the vehicle. Stevens told the officer “that’s old”. Stevens was detained without further incident on charges of possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, operating a vehicle without a license, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while driver’s license suspended and was issued a citation for speed.
