UNDATED – Indiana State Police will be joining forces with other members of the 6-State Trooper Project initiative from March 11th through March 13th with a primary focus on criminal interdiction through high-volume traffic enforcement.
During this period, motorists can expect to see an increased presence of troopers on the roadsides conducting traffic stops. Drivers are encouraged to not drive distracted and to be increasingly aware of the need to move over or slow down as required to give them the room to work safely.
This high-visibility enforcement effort will include the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Pennsylvania State Police, and the West Virginia State Police.
The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol, and intelligence sharing.
“Enforcement through criminal interdiction is an important part of the battle against the opioid epidemic, in our state and nationwide,” said Lieutenant Paul Bucher, Commander of the Indiana State Police Bloomington District. “Together with our law enforcement across these six states, we are working diligently to prevent illegal activity on our highways and interstates.”
