Obituary: Richard “Rick” Kenneth Farlow

January 3, 1951 – February 5, 2021

Richard “Rick” Kenneth Farlow, 70, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, at the Richard L. Roudebush Veteran’s Medical Center in Indianapolis.

He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Anna (Zimmer) and Loren Vernon Farlow. He married Michele Smith Farlow, the love of his life. Rick was in the 155th Assault Helicopter Company in Ban Me Thuot, Vietnam. He retired from the Department of Defense as a Counterintelligence Agent.

Rick was a life member of China Post I, the VFW, and the American Legion.
Rick believed in protecting his family, friends, and country. He lived life to the fullest, traveling the USA on a motorcycle, in an RV, and in his plane. But Rick’s favorite place was with his wife, family, and friends who brought joy, laughter, and love to his life.

Rick is survived by his wife, Michele; brother, Ron (Sandy) Farlow; daughters, Angela (Guy) Hunt, Michelle Woods, Katie (Patrick) Courson and Courtney (Adam) Ciciura; stepsons, Philip (Jenna) Jackson and Tim (Anne) Jackson; and 11, and one on the way, grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford with China Post I officiating. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Gillen Post #33 of Bedford. Calling hours will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to the time of service at the chapel.
