(BROWN CO.) – A man and woman have been arrested on murder charges in Brown County.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were sent to the 7000 block of Hicks Road in Nineveh just after 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
The department received a phone call asking police to check the home. The caller was concerned after they learned a person possibly could have been killed there on Saturday, Feb. 6.
Two people of interest 54-year-old Michael Hazelgrove and 36-year-old Alicia Bustle were detained. Both face preliminary charges of murder, obstruction of justice, assisting a criminal, and conversion.
Deputies entered the home to discover a man’s body wrapped in plastic in one of the three bedrooms, said Sheriff Scott Southerland.
Hazelgrove was the only person in the home when police arrived.
Police say the man died from an apparent gunshot wound. An autopsy by the Brown County Coroner’s Office is scheduled for Wednesday to determine the victim’s identification and to confirm the cause of death.
Police believe Hazelgrove stayed in the residence with the body since Saturday.
Bustle was found and arrested a few miles away in a neighboring home, a short distance from the residence where the dead body was found.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Anyone with additional information about the incident is asked to contact the Brown County Sheriff’s Office at 812-988-6655.
