INDOT Southeast Issues Full Call-Out Ahead of Winter Weather

(SOUTHEASTERN IND.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation Southeast District has issued a full call-out of plow trucks ahead of accumulating snow and ice expected tonight through Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service predicts up to two inches of snow with potential ice for the majority of the area. Some locations could see totals closer to three or four inches.

As of Monday morning, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for much of the Southeast District. The advisory is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. this afternoon and is expected to end at 7 a.m. Tuesday. The combination of snow, ice, and cold temperatures will likely cause slick road conditions across southeast Indiana.

Plow drivers will begin reporting late this afternoon to start monitoring and treating state roads. Shift changes will take place around midnight and additional crews will take over as necessary.

  • Bloomington Sub District: 28 trucks (full call-out)
  • Columbus Sub District: 28 trucks (full call-out)
