Gov. Holcomb Announces Judicial Appointment for Lake County Superior Court Vacancy

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Governor Eric Holcomb today announced Natalie Bokota as his appointment to the Lake County Superior Court, Criminal Division. Bokota will succeed Judge Clarence Murray who is retiring on Dec. 31. 

Since 2000, Bokota has served as a magistrate for the Lake County Superior Court, where she hears a variety of criminal matters and is involved in revising pretrial release standards in Lake County. Additionally, she assists in the oversight of the mental health court. Prior to her current appointment as a magistrate, Bokota served as a deputy prosecutor in the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office for nine years.

Bokota earned an undergraduate degree from University of Massachusetts and a law degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

Bokota will be sworn in as the judge of the Superior Court in Lake County on a date to be determined.
