(MITCHELL) – A Mitchell teen complained of neck, back, and head pain after the vehicle they were riding in collided with a tree while backing into a driveway in the 840 block of Woodville Road.
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report, 19-year-old Sadie Welton, of Bloomfield, had pulled up to get the mail out of her mailbox and then backed her 2012 Nissan Versa into the driveway.
Welton told police she didn’t realize how close she was to the tree.
Police say there was heavy damage to the driver’s side rear and trunk of the vehicle.
Her rear seat passenger, 18-year-old Alexys Nicolas, of Mitchell, complained of neck, back and head pain and was transported by a Seals ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment.
