Bedford Middle School Principal Calhoun Announces Days Earmarked For Targeted Academic Support

(BEDFORD) – As Bedford Middle School students return to in-person learning today, Principal Lucas Calhoun announced two days will be earmarked for targeted academic support.

“As we return to in-person learning, I wanted to share that we know this time in a hybrid schedule has presented both successful moments and areas for growth,” said Principal Calhoun.  “For our students who have faced struggles, over the next two weeks we are having two consecutive days specifically earmarked to provide targeted academic support. On those days, class periods will be extended allowing students the opportunity to receive reteaching, ask questions, and work on missing assignments.”

BMS will also extend the extra help to those students that feel it’s necessary to learn virtually.

“We will continue to do our best to meet the individual needs of our students,” added Principal Calhoun.

If you feel an alternative learning arrangement is needed for your student, please contact Principal Lucas Calhoun at 812-279-9781 or calhounl@nlcs.k12.in.us.

North Lawrence Community Schools will continue to evaluate the data of students and staff. At this time, officials plan to continue in-school learning through December 18th. If it is determined changes need to be made to the learning schedule, families will be notified in advance.

“We look forward to our Cutter students returning to daily in-person learning and supporting our students’ needs academically and socially while providing a safe learning environment, daily meals, and a sense of belonging,” said Calhoun.
