(HELTONVILLE) – A motorcyclist was injured after striking a deer Friday around 9:06 p.m. on Dunn Bridge Road.
27-year-old Cody A. Combs, of Heltonville, was traveling eastbound driving 2006 Yamaha XVS650 on Dunn Bridge Road when a deer was in his path of travel and he struck the deer.
Combs suffered a head injury and was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis by Stat-Flight helicpoter. According to the police report Combs was alert and talking to law enforcement officers on their arrival.
The Lawrence County Police Department, Pleasant Run Township Volunteer Fire Department, IU Health Ambulance Service, and Stat-Flight Air Helicopter responded to the accident.
