(OOLITIC) – Local police department and first responders are on the scene of a multiple vehicle accident on State Road 37 at the Oolitic stoplight.
The northbound lane of State Road 37 is now open. The highway opened around 11:30 p.m. Main Street in Oolitic is still blocked at this time.
The accident was reported just after 10 p.m.
Bedford Fire Department extrication, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Bedford Police Department, Oolitic and Shawswick Volunteer Fire Departments and IU Health Hospital ambulances and Seals ambulances crew are on the scene.
Three ambulances transported four patients to IU Health Bloomington Hospital. A medical helicopter landed at the scene and transported one patient to the University of Louisville Hospital.
