Police Say Shooting In Seymour Not Random Act, Investigation Continues

(SEYMOUR) – The Seymour Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two people injured in the 300 block of South Vine Street.

The incident was reported at 9:43 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Lt. C.J. Foster, when police arrived they found a 23-year-old man and 25-year-old woman who had suffered gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to Schneck Medical Center and then airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital. Police say they are expected to recover from their injuries.

Police have not released the names of those injured.

A resident who witnessed the incident told police there was a knock on the door and when the door was opened, a person wearing a hoodie opened fire using a rifle. Police say the suspect fired multiple times.

The suspect then ran to a getaway vehicle. Police say the suspect and victims knew each other. Police are looking for several people and hoping to make an arrest soon.
