Allen County Judicial Applicant Interviews August 31

(FORT WAYNE) – On Monday, August 31 at 10:10 a.m. (EDT), the Allen Superior Court Judicial Nominating Commission will begin conducting interviews of the applicants for the Allen Superior Court Criminal Division. The interviews will take place in the Community Conference Room at the Crosswinds/Lifeline Building at 4150 Illinois Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.

The interviews are open to the media and public with social distancing measures in place. Seating will be limited. The schedule is as follows:

August 31, 2020

  • 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – Executive Session
  • 10:10 a.m. – 10:40 a.m. – Magistrate Samuel Keirns
  • 10:50 a.m. – 11:20 a.m. – Magistrate Jason Custer
  • 11:20 a.m. – 11:40 a.m. – Break
  • 11:40 a.m. – 12:10 p.m. – Andrew Teel
  • 12:10 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Lunch and Executive Session
  • 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Magistrate Steven Godfrey
  • 2:10 p.m. – 2:40 p.m. – Magistrate Lori Morgan
  • 2:40 p.m. – TBD – Executive Session/Announcement

Members of the audience are asked to refrain from activities that might distract from the interview process. Questioning of the applicants is reserved for the Commission. The Commission has the following guidelines:

  • Enter and exit the room only between interviews
  • Set up audio/video recording equipment in between interviews (no mult box provided)
  • Artificial lighting shall not be used
  • Media/public may interview the applicants before/after Commission’s interview outside the Community Conference Room at the applicant’s discretion

A vacancy on the Allen Superior Court will occur in January 2021. Under state law, the Commission is required to nominate three candidates for appointment to the Allen Superior Court when a vacancy arises. The final appointment will be made by Governor Eric Holcomb.
