Local Police Departments Reporting Trees and Powerlines Down In Lawrence, Monroe, And Surrounding Counties

(UNDATED) – Local police departments are reporting numerous trees and powerlines are down in Lawrence, Monroe, Bartholomew, and Brown counties as severe thunderstorms with 70 mile per hour wind gusts are making their way through the area.

Powerlines are down on U.S 50 West at Bryantsville Road in Lawrence County.

A tree fell on a residence in East Oolitic. The Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident.

Tree down on house at Denson and Heartland streets in East Oolitic.

Trees have fallen in power lines through Lawrence County.

In Monroe County, a tree is completely blocking State Road 45 near Isom Road. A tree is also blocking the roadway on State Road 158 in the 9500 block.

Indiana State Highway and County Highway Departments have been dispatched along with area fire departments to assist in the removal of the trees fallen in the area.

No word on how many power outages have been reported for these areas.

Flash flooding has also been reported throughout the area. “Turn Around Don’t Drown.” Motorists are asked not to drive through flooded roadways. Residents are asked to stay tuned to further developments by the National Weather Service.
