Sheila Marrie (Hayes) Daugherty, 62, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020.
Born Sept. 5, 1957 in Lawrence County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Jim and Mary (Hopper) Durnill.
She married Michael Daugherty on July 30, 1976, and he survives.
She graduated from Bedford North Lawrence High School, class of 1976.
Sheila never met a stranger, was always the life and host of the party. She loved classic rock, sitcoms, going to Lake Monroe, and her dog Snipe. Sheila was married to the love of her life for 44 years, was the proud Mom of 2 children, and Mimi to three grandchildren. Her loss will be felt by many.
Sheila worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Clay Stuckey, an office manager for Dr. Michael Watts, and was co-owner and operator of Southside Electrical with her husband, for more than 27 years.
Surviving are her husband, Michael of Bedford; her children, Jonathan (Elizabeth Bohuski) Daugherty and Kristan (Derek) Daugherty-Brummett; grandsons, Porter and Gauge Brummett; granddaughter, Adele Daugherty; father, Jim Durnill; brother, David Durnill; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary (Hopper) Durnill.
Funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes. The family would like friends to gather memories and stories to share during the service. A meal will follow at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 1515 20th street Bedford, IN 47421. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral chapel. Due to Covid-19, the family asks attendees to please wear a face mask per the Government mandate.
