2020 Mitchell High School Graduation Guidelines

(MITCHELL) – Mitchell High School’s 2020 Graduation will take place on Friday at 6 p.m. at Terry Cole Field. Graduates will stage in the MHS gym.

Graduates will be permitted to bring in 6 family members to Terry Cole Field. Tickets will be distributed to graduates at the ceremony practice. Family members will enter the main gate on the west side of the field by the back student parking lot. Tickets will be collected at the entrance to Terry Cole Field.

Officials recommend family members bring masks (PPE) to be worn, especially when social distancing is not maintained. There will be extra disposable masks available. Please respect social distancing by keeping six feet apart, and sitting in every other row, in the home bleachers. Seating will not exceed 450 family members (50% capacity). Every other row of bleachers will be marked off and seating will not be allowed in those areas.

Hand sanitizer stations will be available at the entrance to the field and the bottom of the bleacher steps. Sanitizing measures of high-touch areas will be in place before, during, and after the ceremony.

Lawn chairs will be permitted, outside of the fence, and on the northwest corner of the complex, on the home bleacher side.

Graduates will be seated on the football field with appropriate social distancing.

The ceremony will not include the band or choir.

All graduates will be required to self-check and monitor themselves before attending the ceremony. It will be communicated in multiple ways that guests self-check and monitor themselves before attending the ceremony.

No food, drink or other items will be exchanged, offered, or available during the ceremony.

Local law enforcement officials will be present at the ceremony to supervise ticket collection, maintain, monitor, and assist as necessary.

In the event of inclement weather, graduates will return to the gymnasium. Family members will return to their vehicles until it is safe to resume the ceremony.

The ceremony will be recorded and made available at a later time. Every attempt will be made to Livestream, but cannot be guaranteed.

Additional precautions will be added as needed to maintain a safe ceremony.
