(MITCHELL) – A Mitchell man was injured after he crashed his motorcycle into the rear of an Amish wagon on State Road 50 West near Fleenor Road.
The accident was reported at 10:08 p.m. on Thursday, July 2.
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report, 45-year-old Chris Pinnick was traveling west on State Road 60 West on his 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he struck the rear of the wagon that was driven by Eli Yoder. Witnesses say Pinnick was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the accident.
Pinnick, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle. He suffered severe bleeding to his head and was flown by medical helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.
Yoder was not injured during the incident.
An AMR ambulance crew assisted at the scene.
