“We are excited about this bringing more jobs to Bedford,” Mayor Craig added.

The Bedford Planning and Zoning Commission has received several complaints during the month of May.

According to Mayor Craig, most of the complaints were about high grass on vacant properties.

“Every spring and throughout the summer the city must deal with. We want our city to look nice and decent,” said Mayor Craig. “There is an ordinance in place. If we get a complaint due to high grass, we will go out and check the location. If it is too tall, we will send the property owner a letter, and give them ten days to comply. If they do not, the city will go out and mow the grass, and then a lien will be placed on the property for that amount.”

Several permits were issued for the month of May.

  • New Residential permits – 2
  • Location Improvement permits – 5
  • Demolition permits – 2
  • Burn permits – 2
