(COLUMBUS) – Columbus City Utilities employee Brandon Hendershot was killed when the dump truck he was driving was hit by a Louisville & Indiana train Wednesday afternoon near Indianapolis and Long roads at the Shelby Materials plant.
The accident was reported at 12:40 p.m.
Police said 26-year-old Hendershot was in critical condition after the crash and later succumbed to his injuries. The coroner said Hendershot died as a result of blunt force trauma to his head.
The crash remains under investigation and Indiana State Police are assisting.
