(BEDFORD) – A Lawrence County inmate is facing new charges after being involved in a fight while in jail Tuesday night.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults, officers responded to the jail after a report that 19-year-old Taylor Storms threw a cup of water on another inmate and then returned to the other inmate’s cell and hit him on the left side of his head.
“The victim reported everything went black for a few seconds and he suffered ringing in his ear after being hit,” Chief Deputy Shoults added. “The incident stemmed from a disagreement over trading food.”
Storms was interviewed and admitted to the allegations. He was then arrested on a new charge of battery causing bodily injury.
