(SPRINGVILLE) – Two teens were injured in an accident on Sieboldt Quarry Road Friday morning.
Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department responded to the crash at 6:53 a.m.
According to a police report, Race Elliott, 16, of Springville, was traveling east on Sieboldt Quarry Road near Old State Road 37 and was going around a curve when he lost control of the 2000 General Motors Jimmy he was driving on the wet roadway.
The vehicle began fishtailing and police say Elliott overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel off the southeast side of the roadway and travel down an embankment and collided into a large stone at the Marathon station. The collison then caused the vehicle to flip and land back on its wheels.
Elliott and his passenger, 16-year-old Jace Elliott, of Springville, suffered minor cut and bleeding to their arms.
Both were treated at the scene and picked up by family members.
Police say Race Elliott was traveling too fast for the wet road conditions.
