Lane Closures Begin Monday on 3rd Street Bridge Over Flatrock River In Columbus

(BARTHOLOMEW CO.) – Lane closures are scheduled to begin on Monday on the 3rd Street bridge (S.R. 46 WB) over the Flatrock River in Columbus.

Milestone Contractors will apply a polymeric deck overlay as part of the $30 million interchange project at State Road 11 and State Road 46 that began late last year.

On Monday (May 4), the far right lane of the three-lane bridge will close for approximately two weeks. Crews will then move to the middle and far left lane, both of which are scheduled to close for one week each. The deck overlay portion of the project is expected to be complete by early June, weather permitting.

Work will continue on the interchange project through the summer and fall, with various traffic impacts on State Road 11 and State Road 46.

Motorists should slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones. The new interchange is planned to open to traffic by the end of 2020.
