Work Continues On State Road 250 Bridge And Box Culvert Replacements In Jackson County

(JACKSON CO.) – Dave O’Mara Contractor Inc. is continuing work this week on a $2.9 million bridge and box culvert replacement project on State Road. 250 in Jackson County.

Crews are working in two locations between State Road 39 and U.S. 31 and will begin work at a third location on or after Monday, April 20.

A 30-day closure begins today (April 13) between County Road 400 East and County Road 475 East, approximately three miles east of State Road 39 for a box culvert replacement at Pond Creek. State Road 250 remains closed just under two miles east of State Road 11 at Vernon Fork Muscatatuck Overflow, west of the railroad, also for a box culvert replacement.

The same contractor will begin work next Monday to replace the State Road 250 bridge over Rider Ditch. The bridge is located just west of the box culvert at Vernon Fork Muscatatuck Overflow. This section of State Road 250 will remain closed through late August.

Additional structures on the contract include:

  • Box culvert replacement 2.25 miles east of S.R. 39 (30-day closure)
  • Bridge replacement over Vernon Fork Muscatatuck River, 1.86 miles west of U.S. 31 (120-day closure)

The official detour for all S.R. 250 closures follows U.S. 31 to S.R. 256 to S.R. 39. Motorists should slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free in and near all work zones. All work is weather dependent.
