(OOLITIC) – With many churches forced to close during the COVID-19 pandemic, some churches have resorted to delivering their message to their congregations in a different way.
Oolitic Baptist Church Pastor Taylor Quinley decided to deliver his message to his congregation on Sunday’s while they sit in their cars.
With their radio set to 93.5 FM, members of the congregation are able to hear gospel music and his preaching. Everyone in attendance stayed in their vehicles while practicing social distancing.
Sunday was the second time the congregation was able to have service in this manner.
The service on Sunday morning opened with a prayer and a few songs including “Victory In Jesus” led by the church’s song leader and another church favorite titled “God Will Take Care Of You”.
Pastor Quinley then went into his message encouraging those of the faith to “Be Not Afraid” taken from Exodus Chapter 14 verses 10-14.
Quinley emphasized the 13th verse which says “And Moses said unto people, Fear ye Not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show to you today; for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more forever.”
Despite the uncertainty of the situation, many fear they will lose their jobs and others fear the sickness itself. The pastor encouraged them not to be afraid, but know that all things will work out for the good using the scripture verse from Romans 8:28.
Quinley closed the service with a closing prayer and a benediction of “God Be With You, Till We Meet Again”
Services will continue at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays until the stay-in-place order is lifted.
