(BEDFORD) – A Bedford man was arrested after Bedford Police stopped his vehicle while on patrol in the area of 16th and B Street on Saturday evening.
The officer stopped 24-year-old James Edwards, of 7787 State Road 58 East, after noticing his vehicle had several equipment violations.
“After stopping the vehicle the driver was identified as James Edwards. Edwards told the officer he had a handgun in the vehicle located between the driver seat and the center console and that he did not have a permit to carry it,” said Chief Terry Moore.
Edwards was arrested on possession of a handgun without a permit.
