Bedford Man Arrested After Causing Disturbance, Damaging Property

(BEDFORD) – A Bedford man was arrested Monday night after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to a home in the 210 block of Bright Lane.

“Officers were called to this location in reference to a report that 35-year-old Caleb Godsey was destroying the inside of the residence,” said Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults. “Officers arrived to find the front door glass of the residence shattered and witnessed Godsey run inside the residence.”

Officers spoke the owner of the residence who said Godsey became upset and out of control because the homeowner would not drive him to town.

Officers located Godsey inside the home.

“Godsey told the officers to ‘move on’ and he was promptly arrested for criminal mischief for the damage to the front doors as well as other damage found inside the residence,” added Chief Deputy Shoults.

Godsey was taken to the Lawrence County Jail without further incident.
