UPDATED – Three People Injured in Head-On Collision on State Road 54

(SPRINGVILLE) – Three people were injured in a two-vehicle head-on collision on State Road 54 at Old Farm Road in Springville Monday night.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies, Indiana State Police troopers and first responders from Bedford Fire Department, IU Health Hospital ambulance and Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash at 7:06 p.m.

According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report, 15-year-old Deven Sproull, of Springville, was driving a 1991 GM pickup eastbound on State Road 54 approaching the intersection of Old Farm Road when he turned into the path of 2016 Dodge Journey driven by 30-year-old Jill Myers, of Bloomfield, who was traveling westbound on State Road 54.

The pickup collided head-on with the Dodge Journey.

Both drivers and a nearby witness confirmed the events of the incident. 

A passenger in Sproull’s vehicle 38-year-old Jodi Sproull complained of chest pain and a cut to her right leg. She was transported by private vehicle to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for treatment.

Police say 7-year-old Tynsleigh Myers and 8-year-old Kayn Stephens, both of Bloomfield, who were passengers in Jill Myers’ vehicle, suffered minor cuts and bleeding to their faces. Both were transported by ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment.

Jill Myers and Deven Sproull were not injured.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Gear Works towing due to damage from the collision.Â
