EVANSVILLE – Bedford North Lawrence junior James Covey fell in the first round of the IHSAA wrestling semistate at Evansville’s Ford Center on Saturday morning.
Covey (32-5) dropped a 7-5 decision to Brownsburg freshman Leighton Jones (35-5) in the opener at 220 pounds. The top four in each weight class advanced (meaning a competitor had to win both matches in the first two rounds) to the state finals at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Feb. 21-22.
